Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect: your name and email (for account creation), camera coordinates, height, and orientation parameters (for viewshed analysis), and payment information (processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers). When you save a free scouting siting with your email (see Section 5a), we also store a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address for the purpose of rate-limiting abuse. We do not store raw IP addresses alongside your free-tier sitings.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively to provide the CamStats PRO service: generating viewshed maps, 3D visualizations, and analytics for your cameras. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate:

  • Supabase (database and authentication hosting)
  • Vercel (web application hosting)
  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • USGS / NASA (public elevation data for viewshed computation)
  • OpenStreetMap contributors (map data under ODbL)

4. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed by Supabase Auth and never stored in plaintext. Database access is controlled by row-level security policies.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized analytics may be retained.

5a. Free Camera Siting Tool & Lead Data

The free Camera Siting Tool lets you preview a watermarked viewshed without creating an account. If you choose to save your scouting results to your email, we store:

  • Your email address
  • The camera parameters you entered (coordinates, height, azimuth, FOV, range)
  • A low-resolution thumbnail of the viewshed preview
  • A short-lived verification token (sent via email; expires within 48 hours and is cleared after you verify)
  • A one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address (used only for rate limiting)
  • Whether you opted in to product-update emails (optional, off by default)

Unverified scouting data is automatically purged after 90 days of inactivity. If you later create a paid account using the same email address, your saved scouting sitings are migrated into your account and the standalone lead record is closed.

You can request deletion of your scouting data at any time by emailing support@camstatspro.com. Marketing-email subscribers can unsubscribe using the link in any email we send.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at support@camstatspro.com.
